ENDEAVOUR FINALLY AT THE STATION!!

ENDEAVOUR DOCKS TO ISS!!

Space shuttle Endeavour has docked with the International Space Station at 1:47 p.m. EDT. The STS-127 and Expedition 20 crew members will now begin 11 days of docked operations.


IT WAS A BEFORE TIME DOCKING!!

Commander Mark Polansky docked space shuttle Endeavour to the International Space Station’s Harmony node at 1:47 p.m. EDT while flying about 220 miles above the Gulf of Carpentaria, off the north coast of Australia.

Following leak checks, the hatches between the two craft will open at 3:43 p.m., creating the first 13-member crew in space history. Shortly after hatch opening, NASA Television will air the traditional Welcome Ceremony.

At about 5:13 p.m., Endeavour Mission Specialist Tim Kopra and space station Flight Engineer Koichi Wakata will swap crew affiliations when they exchange Soyuz seatliners. Wakata has spent 124 days in space, 122 days as a space station Expedition crew member. He is the first astronaut to span three Expedition crews – 18, 19 and 20. When he lands aboard Endeavour, he will have served as a member of five space crews, including STS-119 and STS-127.

CHANDRAYAAN-1'S ABSENCE DURING THIS LAST MONTH WAS A CAUSE OF WORRY.
WE DIDN;T RECEIVE ANY NEWS ABOUT IT.

TODAY IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED THAT CHANDRAYAAN-1 HAS LOST ITS steering control sensor,STAR SENSOR

WHAT ACTUALLY IS THE PROBLEM IS NOT CLEAR. AS FAR I KNOW
THE SENSOR WHICH KEPT CHANDRAYAAN 1 ALLIGNED WITH MOON AND ENABLED IT TO MAINTAIN ITS ORBIT HAS FAILED!
AS A RESULT, ISRO HAS A LITTLE CONTROL OVER IT.BUT CAN'T MANAGE TO KEEP IT IN THE 100 X 100 KMS ORBIT. 
IN THE LAST MONTH, CHANDRAYAAN'S ORBIT HAD BEEN RAISED FROM 100KM TO 200KM AROUND THE MOON.
THE ISRO AUTHORITIES TOLD IT AS A ROUTINE MANEUVER. BUT IT DIDN'T TUNED UP TO BE A GOOD ACT...

NOW CHANDRAYAAN-1 JUST MANAGED TO WORK FOR 7 MONTHS RATHER THAN WORKING FOR A GUARANTEE OF 2 YRS GIVEN BY ISRO

THE ACTUAL PROBLEM

1] STAR SENSOR
IT IS A SENSOR THAT HELPS CHANDRAYAAN-1 TO FOCUS THE MOON
REPORT--
 a critical part has malfunctioned, Chandrayaan could not be steered accurately. It has difficulty in focusing on specific parts of the moon. And there was a real danger that it could crash into the moon.

TO AVOID THE RISK OF CRASH,ORBIT RAISING TO 200 KM AROUND THE MOON-  POLAR ORBIT

The higher orbit also means that India's instrument to measure lunar heights won't function efficiently. There's a real fear that it may not be able to complete its full life of two years. So experiments planned over that time span may be cut short, resulting in gaps of data.

Some good old Indian  managment  has come to Chandrayaan's rescue. By patching together a couple of other sensors, ISRO has found it has some control in steering the satellite.

FINALLY THE MISSION BEGINS!!!

AFTER MANY DELAYS,SPACE SHUTTLE ENDEAVOUR LIFTED OFF FINALLY

Space shuttle Endeavour and its crew of seven astronauts are in orbit after an on-time launch at 6:03 p.m. EDT from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Following a smooth countdown with no technical issues and weather that steadily improved throughout the afternoon, the shuttle lifted off from Launch Pad 39A and began its orbital chase of the International Space Station.

"It was a testimony for this entire launch and flight control team," Launch Director Pete Nickolenko said of the countdown and successful liftoff, which came on the sixth launch attempt after technical issues and weather concerns prevented the first five tries. "It was an outstanding effort, and it made the complex look really easy. It really was a case of persistence."

Bill Gerstenmaier, associate administrator for Space Operations, also commended the launch effort, but cautioned that the mission to come is "very challenging," with five spacewalks and robotic activities scheduled. "The teams are fully prepared -- they're ready to go do what they need to go do, and we look forward to the exciting activities as we install the Exposed Facility out on the Kibo module."

ENDEAVOUR HAS ONE MORE CHANCE TODAY

Tanking operations are under way at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The loading of the space shuttle's external tank with a half-million gallons of liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen began at 8:38 a.m. EDT. The three-hour process will provide the fuel and oxidizer Endeavour's three main engines need for the 8 1/2 minute trip to orbit.

Weather at Kennedy remains at 60-percent chance for favorable weather for an early-evening liftoff at 6:03 p.m. The primary weather concerns for launch are the potential for showers and thunderstorms near the Shuttle Landing Facility.

A POWERFUL 7.8 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE HAS STRIKED THE WEST COAST OF NEW ZEALAND...

TSUNAMI WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR AUSTRALIA.
HERE IS A NEWS REPORT--

A 7.8-magnitude earthquake has shaken New Zealand, prompting a tsunami warning for parts of the Pacific Ocean.

The quake struck off the south-west tip of New Zealand, 161km (100 miles) west of Invercargill at a depth of 33km (20 miles), the US Geological Survey said.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii issued a "non-expanding regional tsunami warning" for nearby areas.

There were no immediate reports of damage or any evidence that a tsunami had formed after the quake.

"An earthquake of this size has the potential to generate a destructive tsunami that can strike coastlines in the region near the epicentre within minutes to hours," the warning centre said in a statement.

The quake was detected at 0922GMT (2122 local time), reports said.

New Zealand's Herald newspaper said the quake was felt across the South Island.

People ran from restaurants in Queenstown as buildings shook, the newspaper said. Power and phone lines were severed in some places.

One South Island resident, Simon Darby, told the newspaper the quake lasted about two-and-a-half minutes.

"I lived in Tokyo for three years so I know what large quakes are like. Even though we are maybe 400km from the epicentre this was easily the longest and biggest I have ever felt," he said.

"It wasn't very violent, more of a rolling feel. But it had a power about it - I ran straight outside into the car park."

WEATHER CHANGES..DELAYS ENDEAVOUR'S LAUNCH

LAUNCH WAVED OFF DUE TO POOR WEATHER CONDITION. STORM CLOUDS AND LIGHTNING DISABLED THE LAUNCH
Space shuttle Endeavour's STS-127 launch now is scheduled for July 13 at
6:51 p.m. EDT.

Officials at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida called off Sunday's planned liftoff due to inclement weather. Cumulus clouds and lightning violated rules for launching Endeavour because of weather near the Shuttle Landing Facility. The runway would be needed in the unlikely event that Endeavour would have to make an emergency landing back at Kennedy. 

The STS-127 astronauts left Launch Pad 39A at about 8:35 p.m. EDT to return to crew quarters at Kennedy's Operations & Checkout Building for the night.

LRO REACHES MOONS ORBIT

NASA'S LRO ENTERS MOONS ORBIT AFTER 5 DAYS OF TRAVEL

After a successful insertion rocket burn on the morning of June 23, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter's orbit was established shortly before 6:30 a.m. EDT.Rocket burns initiated by controllers at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., have helped the moon capture LRO, which arrived after a five-day journey.Now LRO begins its primary mission of mapping the lunar surface to find future landing sites and searching for resources that would make possible a permanent human presence on the moon.Over the next several days, LRO's instruments will be turned on and its final orbit around the moon will be reached.

TODAY IS EQUINOX

An equinox occurs twice a year, when the tilt of the Earth's axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun, the Sun being vertically above a point on the Equator. The term equinox can also be used in a broader sense, meaning the date when such a passage happens. The name "equinox" is derived from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night), because around the equinox, the night and day are approximately equally long. It may be better understood to mean that latitudes +L and -L north and south of the equator experience nights of equal length.
The word is also used for the same event happening on other planets and in setting up a celestial coordinate system
At an equinox, the Sun is at one of two opposite points on the celestial sphere where the celestial equator(i.e. declination 0) and ecliptic intersect. These points of intersection are called equinoctial points: the vernal point and the autumnal point. By extension, the term equinox may denote an equinoctial point.
An equinox happens each year at two specific moments in time (rather than two whole days), when there is a location on the Earth's Equator where the centre of the Sun can be observed to be vertically overhead, occurring around March 20/21 and September 22/23 each year.

LRO/LCROSS SET TO LAUNCH


NASA' LRO AND LCROSS SET TO LAUNCH

NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite are set to lift off together aboard an Atlas V rocket on Thursday, June 18, at 5:12 p.m. EDT. Two additional launch opportunities are available at 5:22 p.m. and 5:32 p.m.

In preparation for liftoff, the Atlas V launch vehicle is scheduled to roll out to the pad Wednesday at 10 a.m


MISSION DETAILS

NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Spacecraft will fly to the moon atop the same Atlas V rocket, although they will use vastly different methods to study the lunar environment. LRO will go into orbit around the moon, turning its suite of instruments towards the moon for thorough studies. The spacecraft also will be looking for potential landing sites for astronauts. 

LCROSS, on the other hand, will guide an empty upper stage on a collision course with a permanently shaded crater in an effort to kick up evidence of water at the moon's poles. LCROSS itself will also impact the lunar surface during its course of study. 

Liftoff currently is scheduled for June 18 at 5:12 p.m. EDT. There are two more launch opportunities that day at 5:22 p.m. and 5:32 p.m.

STS 127 launch waved off till july 11

Space shuttle Endeavour's STS-127 launch today was officially scrubbed at 1:55 a.m. EDT when the same type of gaseous hydrogen leak was detected at the Ground Umbilical Carrier Plate, or GUCP. This is the same location where a similar leak resulted in a launch scrub on June 13."We're going to step back and figure out what the problem is and go fix it," said Deputy Space Shuttle Program Manager LeRoy Cain during a briefing afterward. "Once we get it fixed and we're confident that we have a solution that's going to work and allow us to go fly safely, then we'll proceed forward."Teams followed the same repair method as they did for the GUCP leak encountered during the STS-119 countdown. The STS-119 and STS-127 leaks will both be evaluated in order to determine the cause. Data collected during fueling is expected to help the troubleshooting effort.Endeavour's next launch attempt for its STS-127 mission is targeted for July 11 at 7:39 p.m. EDT.

1] RESPECTED JIM BERKLAND sir


Jim Berkland is a well known personality not only as a geologist as well as a lead earthquake predictor.Jim sir has predicted severe earthquakes with corret magnitude and position. He is a geologist in us. Once he was given the work to observe the level of groundwater every week.. at that time he discovered that there were changes in the level.

there was a change in the weekly strip charts that monitored the water table. The paper charts showed small fluctuations every six hours that could only be attributed the the Moon's gravity. He later realized that the only thing holding up slippage along faults was FRICTIION. If the resistance to movement was overcome by fluctuations in fluid pore presure (greasing the skids) then earthquakes can occur, as long as the fault has stored up sufficient strain. The strains are marked by increasing changes in the local magnetic field, and this is detected by animals, and some people, by means of the magnetite crystals created mainly in their heads. (Bees have it in their abdomens, and chitons in their teeth.>) For large quakes the signals may be detected up to three weeks in advance, such as happened prior to the World Series quake and the Northridge quake.

Berkland was suspended for 2 months from his Santa Clara County geology position in late October, 1989 after an article appeared in the Gilroy Dispatch (Gilroy, California) on October 13, one day before the start of Baseball's 1989 World Series. In an interview with the reporter, he made a prediction that a major earthquake would occur in the San Francisco Bay Area during the series. The Loma Prieta earthquake occurred on October 17, just before the start of the third game of the Series. Berkland claims that the government told him not to make any more predictions fearing mass panic.
Critics counter that the majority of other predictions he has made are much less specific than his 1989 prediction, and that he has since been unable to make a public prediction of that significance before an event.
Berkland predicted an earthquake for January 9-14, 2009.

since then he predicts the earthquake and they all are right..

i met Jim sir on Internet. I had mailed him our earthquake prediction and he responded"very good" since then we have regular conversation.....

Reed is a person who lives in okhlahoma in us. He is popular as a storm chaser all over the world. He chases storms and take videos.Later he sell the videos through his web site

Recently he was succesful in keeping a probe inside a tornado.Reed has seen many tornadoes and have captured Excellent videos..

Reed Timmer is currently working on his PHD in Meteorology at the University of Oklahoma. Reed chases supercells, tornadoes, and hurricanes in his free time. Reed has a passion for weather that can only be described as "incredible"!
Reed became an honorary member of Stormgasm.com in August of 2005. He has storm chased with Jim Bishop and Simon Brewer several times and finally became a member after an incredible Hurricane Katrina chase with Simon Brewer
Some of Reed's most memorable chases include: May 3,1999 F5 Moore, OK tornado, June 24,2003 F4 Manchester, SD tornado, Hurricane Floyd North Carolina Landfall in 1999, Hurricane Frances Florida Landfall in 2004, Hurricane Katrina Louisiana Landfall in 2005, and Hurricane Rita Landfall in 2005.
Reed will most likely chase until he no longer has eye sight!

I met Reed yesterday on internet. I asked him As the monsoon was quiet earlier this time in india could that lead to formation of the cyclone Aila..

I see his programme regularly and am a fan of his way of work and decency as against his own teacher Josh.........


3] DILEEP SADHANKAR--

Dileep sir was my teacher for one year at my school in nagpur. He taught us maths in 8th grade. He teaches computer science. I am his favourite student. He has a unique style of teaching which enabled me to score highest marks in maths all the year in 8th standard... He has taken master's degree in computer science. He is extremely lovable person. He also participated in Nasa senior mission planeer contest with me and won the prize.He is now working as a lecturer. I met him in my school only.later we became friends. we often chat with each other...

He is a very helpful person.

In this way i dedicate my weather study to Reed,Earthquake study to Jim sir and mathematics study to Sadhankar sir.......

I like to thank Reed and Jim sir for giving their time for my questions and articles.

Missing link between humans and higher primates found


In  a new book, documentary, and promotional Web site, paleontologist Jorn Hurum, who led the team that analyzed the 47-million-year-old fossil seen above, suggests Ida is a critical missing-0link species in primate evolution.

The fossil, he says, bridges the evolutionary split between higher primates such as monkeys, apes, and humans and their more distant relatives such as lemurs.

"This is the first link to all humans," Hurum, of the Natural History Museum in Oslo, Norway, said in a statement. Ida represents "the closest thing we can get to a direct ancestor."

Ida, properly known as Darwinius masillae, has a unique anatomy. The lemur-like skeleton features primate-like characteristics, including grasping hands, opposable thumbs, clawless digits with nails, and relatively short limbs.

"This specimen looks like a really early fossil monkey that belongs to the group that includes us," said Brian Richmond, a biological anthropologist at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., who was not involved in the study.

But there's a big gap in the fossil record from this time period, Richmond noted. Researchers are unsure when and where the primate group that includes monkeys, apes, and humans split from the other group of primates that includes lemurs.

"[Ida] is one of the important branching points on the evolutionary tree," Richmond said, "but it's not the only branching point."

At least one aspect of Ida is unquestionably unique: her incredible preservation, unheard of in specimens from the Eocene era, when early primates underwent a period of rapid evolution. (Explore a prehistoric time line.)

"From this time period there are very few fossils, and they tend to be an isolated tooth here or maybe a tailbone there," Richmond explained. "So you can't say a whole lot of what that [type of fossil] represents in terms of evolutionary history or biology."

In Ida's case, scientists were able to examine fossil evidence of fur and soft tissue and even picked through the remains of her last meal: fruits, seeds, and leaves.

What's more, the newly described "missing link" was found in Germany's Messel Pit. Ida's European origins are intriguing, Richmond said, because they could suggest—contrary to common assumptions—that the continent was an important area for primate evolution

sorry for not writing article since many days.I was helpless as i had no time.

Time travel
Let us suppose that i am travelling to hong kong from nagpur by flying above the continent asia over bangkok,etc...<flight a>
if i live at 12am on 21st jan so i shall reach there by 7am ist...  
but if a flight takes a polar route  <flight b>so it might reach by 9 am indian standard time on the same day.let us suppose  both the flights take off from nagpur airport at the same time. but one flight reaches earlier by taking different flight.we have to assume that velocities of both flights is constant. so if we see the flight a reaches fast as it follows a perpendicular route.and the flight b takes a curved route,so it reaches late. if we see the time both the flights took off at the same time but dont reach the same time. there is a difference of about 2 hours in landing time. if we consider that the flight a lands at 7 am so it will land in present time. but considering flight a's landing time.we see flight b arrives in future.<relative to 7am.>
but there is relativity. so we cant observe much.but there is difference.like
at 7 am if a man dies and the flight reaches 2 minutes before his death.but flight b will reach in future time.so there is a time travel.

now where does time change
despite of departing at same time, the flights arrive at different time by moving with constant velocity. let us assume that there is a countdown timer placed at the runway which shows T-3 hours for flight a.the countdown timer placed on runway which shows T-3 hrs for both the flights. at a particular position there will be difference in countdown timers if the pilot reports abt change in route.so it will say T-5 hours.

if we want that both the flights following the routes mentioned above land on the same time then we will have to make velocity change like acceleration for flight b. 
so countdown timer thus again can show same time. 
thus there can be time travel as the flight b will arrive in future to the time 7 am of landing flight b.

consider a square.
not the geometric one where 4 roads intersect each other. 
now let us suppose one vehicle is coming from the east,other is from the west. distance for the vehicle coming from east is 2oom to the square and the other vehicle is 100m. so the vehicle b will arrive first if both the vehicles move at the same speed. in this case if we see that if there is a change in velocity,the two vehicles can collide.in other words their time overlap. 
but time for the world is same but not between the two vehicles. thus we can say time changes with the distance or speed.. that is speed=distance/time
or time=distance x speed.if both are equal then time is same...
thus this explains einsteins principle of time travel by velocity of light... 
in the cases of vehicles we can measure time with the distance to the square on y axis and y' axis....
time will also be measured on y axis and y'axis. 
this variation in time enables two flights or cars to cross each other diagonally without dashing..
As they have different  time they have different speed. and vice versa.this can enable space travel..
can  a body moving with a curved path than a straight path and travelling with the velocity of light can travel more in future than by perpendicular road?
i shall answer on it later

What is time travel through a Wormhole

 yest.. i was drinking milk and stirring the milk. as all know we see a hole that directly goes to the bottom of cup passing through the milk but not touching it. i.e not getting wet. similar is the eye of tornado. the tornada is nothing but air spinning in circular manner i.e clockwise in s.hemisphere and anti in northern hemisphere. the eye is the most dangerous place where the pressure and wind speed is maximum because of its configuration. but if we throw any object from helipcopter in the eye of tornado then that directly will fall down on the ground. such tornadoes is not possible in space<>.
so we can say that when a liquid,gaseous,solid object gains circular velocity then it produces a pit. this can be the answer to the wormholes or the space shortcuts.
we know the process of fussion of any cellestial objects. they are attracted by the gravity then they move circular to each other then they move away. this process continues till they collapse on each other. galaxies are enormous. if in future such thing is ought to happen because of configuration of universe. so a passage may form which can take us to some new place. regarding the passage,we can say we can go for time travel.
Now what exactly will happen is similar to what can happen in case of a wormhole.
if we use atomic clocks to study the time relation,like we will be keeping one clock at the mouth of the wormhole and the other near its other end .so we will find that the clock near the wormhole's other part will run faster than the clock near the wormhole which is near to the surface of earth .if we keep the clock inside the wormhole and the other also inside the mouth of wormhole then there will be no change of time. but when viewed externally,then there will be... so there will be time travel.
This is a key to the time travel..
This can enable us to go in past as well.i shall talk more about it in the next article...
