A gigantic coronal hole at the northern hemisphere of the earth facing side of the sun is very likely sending High speed Coronal stream towards the earth. The coronal hole high speed stream emitted towards the earth causes disturbances in the magnetic field of the earth and onsetting a Geomagnetic storm
This time, chances are good for a Kp index of 4 which will trigger beautiful auroras in the high latitude regions. People must keep checking NOAA forecasts which are in a favor of 35% ACTIVE conditions in both high and mid latitude regions till next 48hrs. Associated with this is the fluctuating Electron flux
Sunspots-
Currently three sunspots are nearly active!
The giant sunspot 1108 is at the southern side of the Sun and quite away from earth direction
1108 also has been emitting many solar flares with some CME recently
The big show can be of the rotating sunspot 1109 which already triggered some CME on 22nd Sept 2010 as seen from Coronagraphs. 1109 can trigger some more C class flares in coming 24hrs . NOAA forecasters call for 10% chance of M class flares
