A MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT IN ASTRO-PHYSICS. EINSTEIN WAS RIGHT IN HIS IDEA OF SPACE-TIME FABRIC

NASA'S FERMI TELESCOPE HAS MADE A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT. THIS ACHIEVEMENT IS IN THE FIELD OF ASTROPHYSICS. IT DISCOVERED THAT THE SPACE-TIME FABRIC IS SMOOTH AND NOT FOAMY.

 

Einstein said that There the space and time are binded with each other by a kind of fabric known as Space-Time fabric. This fabric holds the space and time together. The mass of planets and other cellestial objects curve this fabric and we have a space-time curvature. This has been a theory since Einstein said in in 1905. But on 10th may 2009,Nasa's Fermi telescope captured a powerful Gamma Burst from a galaxy 7.3 billion light years away. It had also taken observations from about 1000 gamma ray sources.

 

One of it was  designated as GRB 090510. This is about 7.3 billion light years away from us.It captured two photons from the gamma ray burst which is the powerful burst.One of the photon had million times more energy than the other one. Fermi telescope made it clear that both were ejected at the same time. But when they reached Fermi, One of it<high energetic photon> woith short wavelengths reached about 900 milliseconds away. Einstein said all EM radiations travel at the velocity of light. But here it wasn't so. This means something has slowed it and it was the fabric of space time which is considered to be foamy.

As a high energy photon would travel faster in forthy space-time than the less energy one. But here it was opposite.

Recently there were many theories saying that the fabric was forthy.

Many approaches to new theories of gravity picture space-time as having a shifting, frothy structure at physical scales trillions of times smaller than an electron. Some models predict that the foamy aspect of space-time will cause higher-energy gamma rays to move slightly more slowly than photons at lower energy.

But it isn't. SO it has been concluded that space and time is as smooth as einstein had said. It also says that the theories regarding new forms of gravity are wrong...
